Pirates invade Pu'uhonua! A 48 Hour NYE party

2007 has been a year of comings and goings, fire and loss, windstorms and broken structures. It's also been a year in which many new wonderful bonds were formed in the San Diego burner community. But in all this change, there's also been continuity - the man still burned, the Padres still lost, Pirates are still cool, and Pu'uhonua stayed in the family! So we'd like to invite you to join us once again this New Year's for a tradition started in 2003 with the first Nude New Year's for PIRATES INVADE PU'UHONUA - 48 hours of fending off marauders, walking the plank and general screaming and debauchery!

We'll start on Sunday at noon with a movie marathon in the big theater room showing the complete Pirates of the Caribbean series, with breaks for marauding, pillaging and looting.. During the day of New Year's Eve you can join us in the heated pool, play games, drink, eat and the usual. New Year's Eve we'll start off with the new musical version of Reefer Madness (Stoned Singing Pirates?), then the dance floor opens up indoors with a mix of classic and new dance music, with fire spinning and video outdoors leading up to midnight when we'll pop the champagne corks!

There will be plenty of room to crash and stay until noon New Year's Day - and there's nothing like a soak in the hot tub with a mimosa with new and old friends as the sun comes up over the trees!

Escondido home for an extended New Year's party in true Pu'uhonua
tradition. The only real rule at this Place of Refuge is "leave your enmities at the door"
