terrible, terrible, terrible food
If you have fond memories of your elementary school cafeteria, this is the place for you. The institutional atmosphere matches the food - bland and cheap.

The service was decent, and it's a big place that can accomodate a large party with no reservations.

But really truly terrible food. I love me some pot pie so this place was a huge disappointment. - My Body is a Temple , posted 03/16/06

Southern Food, Comfort Food!
I thought that I would NEVER find food like this again once I came to California. The world of vegetarians and vegans has yet to put this place out of business!
Apparently they've been open since the 50's but not the same location.
They do offer vegetarian plates, but not steamed veggies, the old traditional cooked veggies.
The pot pie is awesome! The mashed potatoes and gravy are just like grammas! The green beans are fabulous! The prices are right!
And if you get a pot pie dinner it goes with the pot pie, two sides, and a slice of homemade pie! All for $5.25!!!
If you don't like comfort food, or if your on a diet, this is not the place to come. But if you looooove home cookin' and your a native of the east coast or south you will LOVE this place! - DragonfLy , posted 05/17/05

something to crow about
yummy. I love places that include a drink and dessert with a meal...not too many around. My usual: pie dinner and if I luck out...
BANANA CREAM PIE. - Thalia , posted 11/15/04

All the Starch You'll Ever Need
Just make sure you get "double potatoes, no slaw". I still have to remember to bring enough cash to buy one of their t-shirts next time I venture there to eat. - Una , posted 09/23/04

Looking for a casual - low key dining experience?
A place to hang with friends in a casual setting for a very inexpensive lunch or dinner. A little noisy when crowded, but you can't beat this pie dinner with. It's a fresh baked pot pie filled with gravy, turkey, and chicken and comes with vegetables, mashed potatoes, and fresh baked dinner roll. Don't forget the coleslaw or applesauce, and a slice of pie for dessert. This runs you about $5.50 + drink and tip. Food is served very quickly. Take your appetite but leave your credit/ATM cards at home, they only accept cash on the barrel head. See you there. - Moebius , posted 09/14/04
