 Has always been packed to the brim on Fridays and Saturdays when I've gone. Sometimes hard to find a seat but the vibe is great. Bartenders are always friendly . . . well, except that one time my friend tried to start dancing . . . no dancing at Nu Nu's, folks. Definitely worth checking out. - Kate , posted 09/24/07 |

Nunu's is a super cool bar off 4th ave in Hillcrest south of university about 6 blocks. Drinks are chep, clientele are hip, though in a non-classist way. Bartenders are usually funny. A grumpy old fart serves burgers if you scare him out of his cave, there's a cool smoking patio. Their jukebox is probably the best in San Diego, and the ambiance, from the vinyl padded 1/2 round booths to the cheesy bar and old lamps, is awesome. This is a local and a service industry bar, Straights, gays, high-fashion, no fashion, and attractive people both physically and conversationally. Nu NU's offers booth seating against a backdrop of velvet wallpaper, just the setting one would imagine for the wide variety of Hillcrest eclectics that frequent this watering hole. They do not offer Pool or darts, but what they do have is mighty stiff drinks at a bargain price, and a smoking patio in the back. - goldenjoy , posted 09/09/04 |
