I LOVE this place, but today the lovely Miss Rita had whipped up a combination of jalapeno, pineapple, pepperoni and ricotta cheese that was simply out of this universe. Luigi's is the best pizza in San Diego. Yes, I've been to Bronx Pizza, and yes Luigi's edges it out. Luigi's is a no frills pizza shop. Its one room divided in half by the counter with the ovens behind that. There are chairs and tables, and every once in a while something laying around to read. The workers are always pleasant, and there is tons of outdoor seating. The reason you come here, though, is the pizza. Its delicious thin crust, new york style pizza. Every day Luigi's cooks up numerous flavors of its pies and fills its slice case. They have ricotta, they have garlic, they have pesto, they have pepponi, they have sausage, they have black olives, etc. They have combinations of those. Or you can order your pie custom made with whatever they have on hand. Try Luigi's you won't be disappointed. - Joshua , posted 09/09/04 |
