Siesels is pretty good
Siesel's is decent, as long as you don't need something too unusual. For example, I once wanted a saddle of lamb and they did not know what it was. I was in a rush so ended up having to pay dearly for a much larger piece of meat than I needed, and then I had to butcher it myself. I think they charged me about $200 for a piece of meat which should have cost about $70 tops.... Siesels also will not sell sausage casings, even though they make sausages.... not good.

Tip Top up in Carlsbad is a better butcher. They are more knowledgable, carry more variety, and more accomodating - Bingo , posted 07/30/05

Awesome meats!
Simply the best in San Diego! Steaks are to die for, if your budget is tight (even if not) try a sample selection of their signature sausages. They are amazing, and inexpensive! - , posted 12/27/04

Excellent butcher/meat market in San Diego
If you're looking for a thick gorgeous fresh cut of meat, go straight to Siesel's. Prices are a bit higher than the local grocery stores, but the meat quality is excellent and well worth it. They will do custom cuts at your request. Besides the incredible steaks (LOVE that aged beef rib-eye!), Siesel's has kabobs, some seafood, marinades and more. Open Mon-Sat 9-7, Sun 10-6. Located off the 5 Freeway (Clairemont Dr exit) - Ashton is a little side street off Morena Blvd; look for the big cow out front. - Kari , posted 09/09/04
