When the water pump on my 1986 volvo went blooey - I needed to have my car looked at.....yup. It was ugly. I knew it was ugly by the way in which my car died. White steam coming out of the back and the way the temperature gauge shot up to boiling. Anyway, I didn't know where to take my car. So, listening to friend's advice I towed it out to a small town just outside of San Diego, where I found the most honet mechanic in the world. He may take a bit longer than a big garage...but his work is meticulous. He didn't sell me short and told me what my options were and what I can expect to need done in the future. Old world workmanship is what you can find here...but, don't expect it to be done in a heartbeat! - Laura Fran , posted 09/12/04 |
